Ffion Taverner is an artist, facilitator and grower who specialises in Natural Dyes, having just returned to Wales/ Cymru after spending the last year travelling through central and South America, working and researching different farms, growers and natural dye studios.
Having completed an Instructional Artist Residency specialising in Natural Dyes with Arquetopia in Peru 2019 which delved into the tradition of colour within Peruvian culture she has gone to deepen her knowledge of natural colour in The Netherlands. During 2020 she was running the dye studio and growing dye plants at Studio Claudy Jongstra.
As an organic grower Ffion is working closely with the soil - growing, harvesting, collecting, tending and foraging. She is passionate about sharing the power of natural colour with others, emphasising accessible and experimental techniques that allow folk to spend time creating, focussing on creative energy and working with their surroundings.
Get in touch if you would like to attend a future workshop, or would like to work together.
I am currently working on my 2024 workshop programme and searching for venues in South Wales / De Cymru.
