Ffion Taverner is an artist, facilitator and grower who specialises in Natural Dyes which are often sourced from her surroundings within the UK.

Having completed an Instructional Artist Residency specialising in Natural Dyes with Arquetopia in Peru 2019 which delved into the tradition of colour within Peruvian culture she has gone to deepen her knowledge of natural colour in The Netherlands. During 2020 she was running the dye studio and growing at Studio Claudy Jongstra.

Currently based on an organic vegetable and flower farm, Ffion is working closely with the soil - growing, harvesting, collecting, tending and foraging. She is passionate about sharing the power of natural colour with others, emphasising accessible and experimental techniques that allow folk to spend time creating, focussing on creative energy and working with their surroundings.

Working within such a slow medium creates an open-ended relationship to each ingredient sourced. She reads nature through colour, allowing her curiosity to forage and collect material; cooking up experimentation. Natural colour has incredible depth, working with traditional dye plants and as well as various local plants, this depth is portrayed with an embedded connection to the natural world.
